In October 2015 they announced the promotion of industry veteran Brent Almeida to chief executive officer and a $14M investment by Vesuvius Ventures, the company’s controlling shareholder.

Brent was born in Rhode Island (USA) and graduated summa cum laude from Bryant University, where he received a business administration degree with a primary concentration in Finance and minor concentrations in Applied Statistics and Marketing. Bryant University educates and inspires students to become innovative leaders of character who are prepared to be successful and make a difference around the world.

He spent 6 years working for GTECH Corporation (now IGT Corporation) where he focused on M&A and strategic growth initiatives before moving to Gibraltar in 2009 to oversee the integration of four new online gaming acquisitions into a single business unit. Shortly after arriving in Gibraltar, Brent met the two co-founders of WaveCrest and eventually joined them as Chief Financial Officer to help build the company from the ground up and secure external financing. In 2015,

Brent took on the Chief Operating Officer responsibilities before eventually becoming CEO later that same year. He will talk to us about the challenges and benefits of setting up a startup locally, new technology within business and the new career opportunities that Gibraltar is rapidly being exposed to.
